Women’s Empowerment and Education Centre, Kabul
Sainty law is a proud supporter of the Women’s Empowerment and Education Centre in Kabul.
Since 2012, Sainty Law has supported Indigo Foundation’s Women Empowerment and Education Centre Project. The Women’s Empowerment Centre at Gawharshad Institute of Higher Education (GIHE) builds a supportive environment and provides opportunities to help young Afghan women complete a quality education in law, political science and economics. GIHE was established in 2010 by Dr Sima Samar, Nobel Prize nominee and head of the Afghan Independent Human Rights Commission.
Indigo Foundation’s Women’s Empowerment and Education Centre Project commenced in 2011 through the establishment of a scholarship program to support the tuition fees of disadvantaged female students with potential wishing to attend GIHE. The financial support of these capacity building programs has played a considerable role in promoting female students’ participation in academic life and has enabled more than 187 young women to access quality higher education. In January 2015, 25 young women graduated from GIHE. A further 162 young women are continuing their studies on tuition scholarships.
