Annalisse joined Sainty Law as a law graduate in March 2014, bringing with her broad experience in the media and entertainment industry, as well as a keen interest in digital media, privacy law and data protection. Since then, she has been admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of Victoria, and currently holds a New South Wales Practicing Certificate. Annalisse is now an Associate on the Sainty Law team.

Prior to her legal career, Annalisse worked in television operations in various roles at both Network Ten and Channel Seven. Not only has her experience given her valuable insight into the broadcast media industry, it has also equipped her with a commercial and client-focussed approach to legal practice.

During her time at Sainty Law, Annalisse has worked under Katherine’s supervision to provide commercial and regulatory advice to a wide range of businesses. In particular, she has worked closely with various online businesses in relation to privacy compliance issues in the digital space, including in cloud environments. Annalisse also has experience assisting in significant commercial transactions, advising on corporate structuring, and drafting complex commercial agreements.

In addition, Annalisse has researched and written numerous articles on legal and regulatory developments in a range of areas including privacy, big data, and online copyright.  She is a regular contributor to the Sainty Law blog.

Annalisse holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Melbourne, and a Bachelor Degree in Media (Visual Production) from Macquarie University.

Paul joined Sainty Law in December 2011. He has extensive business experience coupled with formal qualifications across a number of disciplines.

Paul has a Juris Doctor degree from UNSW Law School, which he completed with honours in 2012. He also holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting), Master of Commerce (Public Finance and Taxation) and Master of Arts (Applied Ethics), all completed at the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa. In addition, he is a member of both the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia as well as the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants.

Paul worked at Deloitte, South Africa for over 13 years where he was a tax partner based in Financial Institutions Services, and the Taxation Service Line’s lead partner in respect of a number of local and multinational investment banking, asset-based financing and stockbroking clients. He was employed as a Tax Principal in the Sydney office of Deloitte prior to entering UNSW Law School in 2010.

He has extensive experience in relation to tax structuring, advisory and compliance services. In the course of his Deloitte career, he acquired specialist expertise in corporate and structured finance transactions, such as securitisation, asset-based finance, as well as leasing and securities-lending arrangements. He also has strong accounting and tax accounting skills which served as a useful platform to provide general business advisory services to his clients, in areas such as financial and working capital management, capital structuring and funding advice, as well as the structuring of shareholder agreements.

At Sainty Law, Paul’s particular focus includes the Corporate and Governance sphere of our clients’ businesses and their activities. With the benefit of both legal and accountancy knowledge, and having undertaken the role of ‘trusted business advisor’ to many of his taxation clients over the years, Paul brings a different set of skills and perspective. His wealth of commercial advisory experience and academic insight strengthens Sainty Law’s ability to provide its clients with a broad and contemporary focus on commercial and legal matters.
